Brents correct - I parallel import too - hence the lower cost. Don't worry about the joke Pacific base map installed to NZ retailed versions - it's not worth anything and is quickly and easily superseded by a range of maps available in NZ like Brents (see his web site at the bottom of his post above), Graemes (NZ Open GPS Maps Project
and KiwiLegends Topos.
I've sold a lot of units and have only just had 3 warranty claims - all 3 went to Garmin in Taiwan for $16 total last month. The problems were:
GPS60 - very poor satellite reception though OK with external antenna
Vista C - faulty pressure cell claimed a permanent altitude of 20,000m. Garmin even have this info on their FAQ.
Forerunner 201 - all buttons either did not work or did the wrong thing.
As Brent says, they are all warranted. A NZ retailer may offer an immediate replacement. I do too - replacement or refund if faulty within 3 months.
