Fishing spot Pohara Golden Bay

Postby simsee » 03-04-2009 18:02

Hi there
I understand that there is a reef between Tarakohe Harbour and Seperation Point that fishes brilliantly
Is anyone able to give me the gps marks for this, apparantly past Tata and only 2/4 km off shore
Thank you in anticipation
regards
simsee :D

Nothing likely shown on this map - the coordinates in WGS84 of the R 19.7 spot in the upper left are: S40.72529 E172.83966

Got given this mark for a rock from a commercial fisherman that apparently fishes well.Haven't had time to check it out yet but might be the one you are after.S40 47.600 E172 55.530.Don't no how accurate this is so you may have to do a few loops to pin point it,The fisherman who gave it to me only has it as a rough mark so he doesn't catch it with his trawl gear.

Thanks Rangi - those coordinates are about 1km NE of Tata Islands:

Fairly shallow - just past the 10m depth contour.
