Howdy

We are heading up to Kaiteriteri next week and would dearly love to find some good fishing and scalloping spots (never been up there before). If anyone would be kind enough to share some of their 'secret' GPS spots would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Head out to the mussel spat farm off Kaiteri and troll a few lures as there have been a lot of kingfish caught there lately(ask any of the locals or water taxi drivers and they will point you in the right direction to find it)Not many scallops in Tasman bay this year unless you are a diver in which case you should be able to pick up a feed 100meters off Falls river beach or Bark bay.For snapper or Cod your best bet is probably off Seperation point (snapper are still spawning and not back on the bite very well yet)

That's really awesome advice, thank you. Any thoughts on what is a good lure to use when trolling for Kingi's or should we look to do some livebait with a balloon?

Cheers

Went out to spat farm this morn and saw heaps but only managed to get 2 kings to take the lures and landed 1.Had more luck casting lures into the buoys and was exiting at times with a dozen or more big kings following right up to the boat.
