What's the status of this forum?

Postby Scout » 08-04-2017 10:31

The most recent post in my feed is dated 15-08-2016. Am I missing something?

Hi Scout,

It looks like everyone has moved onto social media. I'm still culling vast quantities of registrations that I no longer check due to the quantities involved & despite asking some time ago for the forum software to be updated, nothing has happened. The views of your posts tell the story I'm afraid. I am the only admin who has logged onto the forum this year, it seems it's had it's day.

Regards,

Neill.

That's what I feared. All good things must come to an end.
I hope all is well with you and yours.

That's odd - I tend to check in every 4-6 weeks for activity. Is that activity not showing up?

It's a real shame that people stick to Face-mag as the forums are a much better mechanism for retaining knowledge, having robust discussions, and sharing advice!

I haven't read the forum for a few years either. A bit of rubbish happened in my life, and before I knew it it's been 3 years. Thanks GSV for the link on FB to remind me to come and have a look. Not that there's a lot to see though really. FB has the advantage of having become a one stop shop, and also a push system, which is definitely more convenient, but I agree with the lack of archiving functionality. Not sure what the answer is really, but times have definitely changed...

Ahh, probably because you are not doing the second step of logging in as an admin. Have been in the US Storm Chasing & at Dayton Hamvention the last 3 1/2 weeks, just deleted all the pages of attempted account creations during that time. Still no sign of any other admins logging in.

Hmm, my bad - sorry Neill. Pity we can't add another more effective captcha to filter the 'bot traffic out.
