Australian Geocachers

Postby tigersden » 11-05-2012 12:20

Howdy,
We are tigersden, and will be attending your Mega Event, our first time overseas. (well it is for Mrs T) :D
Whilst attending our own OZ MEGA during Easter, I had a few people come to my stall inquiring about CAR FLAGS and getting some made for Australian Geocachers to display whilst they are caching overseas.

So I sat down and put my thinking cap on, and finally came up with a design for the CAR FLAG.
This is what we came up with.

We have proceeded to have the flags manufactured and they are now available for the Australian Geocacher to get a hold of one and take overseas with them.

We can't wait to pack ours and bring it with us to use in NZ. It is going to be a great way for other Geocachers to know where we are from, especially if we are wanting to catch up with fellow Australians attending the event.

We have sold quite a few of these CAR FLAGS and we cannot wait to see them all being displayed in NZ.

There is also available a LANYARD / a TRACKABLE TAG and a PATHTAG. (all with the same logo) All available at our online store http://www.tigersdens-geocaching-goodies.net/storepage1396544.aspx. (the pathtag will be available at The Pathtag POrtal http://www.the-pathtag-portal.net/ when it arrives.

We are offering a BULK BUY special on the AUSTRALIAN GEOCACHERS products. What this means is, if you get your friends together[ and work out what you want, and your TOTAL order cost is $200 or more, then we will ship the products to you for FREE. If this interests you, please contact us by email and we will send you out the SPECIAL BULK BUY PRICE LIST.

Whilst we are in NZ, and you see this flag, please come up and say hi, I am sure we will have plenty of stories to swap, and of course a PATHTAG or two as well, and we would love to have our photo taken with you to add to our holiday book.

We will have EMAIL whilst in NZ, which is tigersden@live.com.au but we won't be taking our phone.

We look forward to seeing your island and all of it's caches and cachers, so don't be shy and say Hi.
Cheers

A great idea. I was quite impressed at how effective the Australian flags supplied at the OZ MEGA were as we drove around the surrounding countryside. Very easy to identify fellow geocachers and also as an introduction to stop and chat.

I suspect the NZ MEGA organisers present probably also noticed  but it sounds like a lot of Australian Visitors will additionally be taking a bit of a road trip around NZ so your Australian ones would be great for that, plus of course help in indentifying yourselves to the friendly :D locals.

Yes, they are a great idea. This flag is a lot STRONGER and will last longer than the one that was supplied at the OZ MEGA. The pole is a STIFF pole, not a flexible one, which is ideal for highways/freeways etc, and the flag material is thicker and stronger.

I can't wait to get to NZ to use mine.

Plus with the Lanyards and the Pathtags and the Trackable tag, we are going to have a lot of fun.

That reminds me, I have to speak to the event organizers to see about hosting a PATHTAG event whilst we are there, need to find out where we can hold it.

Feel free to start a new thread! Like many of the activities, we're looking for people to lead them, and let us know what sort of facilities and timing would be appropriate so we can come up with a good solution.

Cheers Gav

:D We have created a new thread, as suggested, thank you, with info about hosting a PATHTAG event.
There is also a poll question for you to answer.

The orders we have received over the last few days for Flags and their accessories, have been placed in the post, so keep an eye out for them early next week.
