Pathtag Event at the NZ MEGA

Postby tigersden » 12-05-2012 11:34

Hi Everyone,
I am Cerena, the PATHTAG ADDICT one of "tigersden".
I am the Founder of The Pathtag Portal Club. We have an online store, a Members Only Club as well as a Monthly Tag Club.

We have been chatting with the event organizers about hosting a PATHTAG EVENT at the Mega. :D

Not sure of the DATE / TIME / LOCATION yet, but we will know a little closer to the date, once I chat more to the organizers to see where we can host it.
(We are from AUSTRALIA you see)

:lol: At the event you will be able to: :lol:
* Swap NZ MEGA Pathtags.
* Swap General / Signature Pathtags.
* Have a chat to us and others to see what Pathtags are all about.
* Have a look at the Pathtags that people may be bringing along to show.
* Have a chat to us and some of the Committee Members of The Pathtag Portal and The Portal Members Club and The Monthly Tag Club.
* If you have a design in mind, you are more than welcome to bring it along and show us and we can chat to you about it.
* There will be a LUCKY DOOR Prize, an EVENT FTF Prize, and some raffles you can enter.

If I have missed something, please let me know so I can include it here.

=D> If you are interested and would like to ATTEND the EVENT, please LOG YOUR "INTENT TO ATTEND" HERE. =D>
Please let us know the following details:
* Your Caching Name
* How many attending
* If you have a NZ MEGA Pathtag to swap
* If you have GENERAL/SIGNATURE Pathtags to swap

********** If you could take part in the poll to help us determine the preferred DAY to hold the event , that would be muchly appreciated. :D **********

Also, if you are thinking about ordering some pathtags and accessories from The Pathtag Portal, we are more than happy to bring your order with us.
Just make sure you have your orders in by the 13th of OCTOBER.

If you need to contact me for any reason, you can do so by email at ground-control@the-pathtag-portal.net

Thank you for your time and we look forward to meeting you all at the Mega.

Regards
Cerena

FROM THE NZ MEGA ORGANIZERS:
The NZ MEGA Organising Committee encourages anyone to get into the spirit of Pathtags and Geocoins. Designs for both are at your own imagination. These may be swapped within teams throughout the lead up months to NZ MEGA 2012.

The main theme for the NZ MEGA is the yellow eyed penguin.
Other themes that are relevant include the Kiwi, the Royal Albatross, the Silver Fern and the New Zealand Fur Seal.
The Octagon shape and Otago's regional colours Blue & Gold are also relevant, as are links to Dunedin's Scottish heritage.

The NZ MEGA Organising Committee have developed "Geofeet", a yellow eyed penguin mascot for the event, however we would prefer to keep our "Geofeet" artwork aside, for our own official NZ MEGA geocoin and pathtag productions and for other forms of official publication related to the MEGA.

ATTENDEES LIST:
* tigersden with 2 NZ MEGA tags and 1 SIGNATURE tag and many others to swap with.

We could probably also do it like the OZ MEGA - have a timeslot available each day (OZ MEGA had 4 didn't it), and as long as you turn up during one of those open timeslots, and sign the log, you get to log the event. I'd expect that timeslots on Friday, Saturday and Sunday would make the most sense. Those that haven't gone will be packing up and doing the CITO thing on the Monday.

As long as the slots are in the evening around the entertainment time/place, as we will be out caching all day.
We can't make it an event on GC though. So it will just be just a part of the BIG event.

Good idea, but at this point, we are not sure of the time, but maybe like was in the OZ mega, but again don't want to miss out on catching up with taggers coming to the event, you should be able to list the event in NZ.

Reviewers, anyone in the know... what are the rules regarding GC recognised/published events being published during the NZ MEGA period at the same location (or relatively close-by)?
I love it that when you ROT13 "GREEN", you get "TERRA". There is something quite Zen about that

GC won't publish a PATHTAG event...pathtags are in COMPETITION to Groundspeak trackables, so they will not publish any event that MENTIONS PATHTAGS.

You can have as many events listed during the mega as you see fit.
You can have the CITO, you can have dinners events, you can have meet n greet events...I think the OZ MEGA had about 4 different events listed.
And we held on the night before it all began...a dinner event...and called it...The night before it all began.

I think this is a really good idea. Add some more pathtags to my growing collection. Will attend no matter what day and time. I have one tag for this Mega but have my second one in the design stag. I will hve my old signature tag and a brand new one as the replacement. 2 from team youngoldfella. John

We'll bring a couple of signature tags as well as a couple of Mega Tags (still finalising the designs). We'll also be acting as proxy for at least one team who can't attend. We thought the evening timeslot worked well at the Oz Mega but will make the effort to attend whenever it is held. We're seeing some great designs in the gallery of Pathtags.com so looking forward to meeting & trading with fellow taggers.

Our Baa Lamb NZ Mega tag is here and he turned out great, we have 1 more NZ tag to submit, and will have a selection of our regular tags, the Geocaching Australia site should be able to list a path tag event though, perhaps Caught at Work could advise on that point.

I have my signature tag that tigersden designed for me. Not too many people down here with pathtags yet. I'm expecting with Mega for people to realise what they are and want them! Looking forward to trading with everyone.
