Many thanks again to Psychrn for the camera and editing work!

I think another protect event is called for in the same spot due to this outrage!

Oh that sucks. I can see where those rules are to protect us from retirement-bludging no-future welfare cases, but this is hardly going to be the case with Mr O'Brian.

Cromwell Cacher Catch up 2011

Here is one for all those people holidaying in Central Otago over new year - should be a few of you, as it seems like half of NZ congregates here over summer!

The now-annual Waitangi Day campout and BBQ event is at the Waharau Regional Park this year. Come along during the day, stretch your legs in the Hunua Ranages, and you just might bag a FTF

Visit the event page here...http://coord.info/GC2K6GF

At 4:30 we'll stoke up the BBQ, followed by tall tales of caching well into the late hours for those opting to camp overnight.

Hi peeps,

Just spotted a link to this more local forum on Groundspeak so thought I would post here as well. Below describes what we are looking for and why.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Clare & Irene

Hi guys and girls,

My self (Clare) and my partner (Irene)(Linedancers) have booked a trip to NZ, commencing 24.12.11, and we will arrive in NZ on 27.12.11. If possible, I would like to host a geocaching event on 12.01.12, around Waimate / Dunedin to celebrate by 40th birthday. If there are any cachers out there that can possibly help out / suggest a venue / or even book the event, we would be extremely grateful.

We can be contacted on heypressto@btinternet.com / clare.kitching@btinternet.com / clare.kitching@bt.com or via geocaching.com.

Many thanks

Clare and Irene.

Postby riser5 » 25-08-2011 22:46

Hey all, I am hosting an event up in Whangarei, Going to have a small bowling competition for cachers and a small gathering, all geocachers are welcome to attend.

http://coord.info/GC2PGD2

"Its been a while since I joined Geocaching and its been life changing. I enjoy the lifestyle and the adventure.

I wanted to host an event to get to know my fellow cachers in the area and abroad. But CHLYBN beat me to it, lol. Oh well.

Now I have the chance to run my own. Hope many of you can attend.

We will be in the 10 pin bowling and entertainment centre.

Event start 1PM, Game start 2PM.

Come One Come All, Come to the new location of Ten Pin bowling. An old haunt of mine, now to have a get together and meet up with your fellow cachers and have a good time... and a little friendly competition.

Game starts at 2PM.

Meet and mingle and maybe even have a bite to eat.
Bring your stories, your experiences and your travel bugs and lets have a great gathering.

Food and drink is available from the establishment.

We will be having a small bowling competition.
I need to have numbers in by the 24th so I can let the Bowling alley know how many lanes.

There will be a charge of up to $20 for those wishing to compete in the game. Prizes available."

Time to get your hands dirty, Wellingtonians ...
Fozzmiester has organised GC33F40 Glenside CITO - A Capital Event for Saturday, September 24th from 9.30am to 11.30am.
Apparently this is only the second CITO to ever be organised in Wellington so don't miss the opportunity to grab a smiley and help beautify your region. The area in question is a local stream in Glenside, a small community between Porirua and Churton Park.
As further incentive, Fozzmiester is offering spot prizes - including a Garmin chirp and assorted geocoins - as well as snacks/drinks to participating garbage-men and women.
Still not convinced? Your attendance would also count toward GC.com's CX515 10,000 Fewer Pieces of Litter worldwide challenge for those interested in the new scheme (known by some as Groundspeak's latest b*****d love child).
Cache me if you can at ...
