Geocachers.co.nz

I wonder what experience people have had with geocachers nz. I ordered goods last Wednesday and they are yet to be delivered. I have followed them up twice and have been told they've been dispatched but getting onto 10 days delivery time sucks.

Very disappointing. Are there any other caching retailers in NZ?

Depending where you are located & where they are located you will likely have to have patience until mail service returns to normal after the Canterbury snow. A good half of the South Island has not had normal - if any - mail & freight services most of this week. If they, or you, are in the South Island I would not be getting too grumpy. ;)

Kind regards

Don't think Canterbury snow will be affecting either buyer or purchaser here, as both look to be based in the upper North Island.

Geocachers.co.nz specify in their shipping info that they use tracked envelopes so you can track and trace your order. Have you asked for a tracking number? If it was sent out when they say, it sounds like it has been delivered incorrectly or the courier is sitting on it. The long weekend could be a factor too?

Thanks for the replies, I am in Tauranga and usually have no problems with orders from elsewhere. I asked about when it was sent and with whom and got the response:
Your current order status is:
Dispatched

Haven't been advised a tracking number. Hopefully it will be here today.

Thank you Kevin, I am sorry to hear of your family illness.

Yes I did ask for the tracking number via email on 8 June. Still waiting for that.

For what it's worth, I've always had great service from Kev and Cath at Geocachers.co.nz - and Bruce at KiwiCachers.co.nz. NZ Post, on the other hand, though ...

I believe that Geocachers NZ use Post Haste as per what is on their site, with "next day delivery". The tracking number would clarify who was used and when it was sent though.

It's probably best for me not to carry on in this forum with what one could construe as a geocacher's agenda against a company that I am sure is legit. All I wanted was to be able to place a particular cache by a certain date and thought a 10 day lead in would have been sufficient.

I'll be quiet now and wait for the courier.

Cheers for the input.

I don't think geocachers.co.nz is NZ based anymore, I understood they moved to Queensland.

From their home page "FREE courier delivery for orders over $50 to New Zealand"

You might get quicker service from a NZ supplier.

Ah that would be why there is also NO cache maintenance done on their caches.

The contact address on the website is near Whenuapai, Auckland. I drive past this address for work purposes reasonably frequently, and last week there was still a big sign outside the property inviting you into the geocaching shop.

Could be an old sign, I know, but just pointing it out to ya' all...

IF anyone ever hears from this crowd please kick them up the backside for me. Kevs_Team has only geocached in Aussie in the past year or so and as mentioned by ADV, Kevin cannot run the NZ operation. Here he is at he Oz Mega http://www.notaboutthenumbers.com/2012/05/08/two-thumbs-up-for-oz-mega/

I'm venting here as I am not getting any answers from the guy, and it's only a $12 sale but I detest shoddy customer service.

I ordered goods on 30 May. I emailed two days later on 1 June to see whether they had received payment, as the website still said pending funds. The response from Kevin Swain was "yes we have your payment I must have missed it on the statement. I will get your order out the door ASAP".

The geocachers.co.nz website informs me that the goods were dispatched on 7 June. I asked for a tracking number 8 June.

Seven days to get something Out The Door and then (so far) five days for overnight delivery is taking the piss. Man up if you have screwed up, Mr Swain.

Hi there,

if you look back to the 6th post in this thread, you will find you answer. The person who runs this company responded himself.

It may be that there are more important issues going on for him at the moment. It's none of our business what the hospital & health issues involved are, but it doesn't take much imagination to come up with a scenario where dispatching orders & responding to emails becomes improbable, if not impossible, and at the very least inconsequential.

I think he should be cut some slack. But that's just my opinion.

Would you not think if they can't fulfill orders from customers and get them sent out in a timely manner they would at least put something on the web site to let people know?
It won't take people long to find out they aren't sending goods out, this forum is already on the first page if you do a google search.
